This case refers to a shipment exported illegally from Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. It was seized in East Asia in early 2012, when the customs department discovered 931.7 kg (363 pieces) of ivory. Out of this seizure 10 samples were selected and analyzed to find out from which geographical area the carved ivory might derive from.
